How Can I write Scott?
How can I add Money to Scott's Commissary or "Trust" Account? Scott is not allowed to possess money while he is in confinement. He is provided meals, certain personal items, and clothing. Grocery items, personal hygiene items and other goods may purchased by him from the facility commissaries. Follow this link to see what Scott can purchase at commissary. Payment for commissary items is completed by transferring funds from Scott’s trust fund account to the agency’s commissary account. He may spend up to $75.00 on ordinary merchandise every two weeks. However, this amount may be less as determined by the his custody status. The spending limit does not apply to special items such as radios, some clothing items, fans, or hot pots. These special purchase items are made specifically for an institutional environment. They must be bought directly from the commissary by Scott for the his personal use. The fastest way to send money to Scott is thru a service called Jpay, this service allows you to use your Discover, Visa, MasterCard to send money to Scott. The money should be deposited into his account usually within two business days. A Deposit Slip is not required to use this service. They will charge a small transaction fee for this service. The traditional method is to send a cashier Check or Money Order to the Inmate Trust Fund clearing house in Huntsville Texas. You must get a Deposit slip before you can send money to Scott's Trust Account. Deposit slips may be obtained from the Scott or by sending a request and an addressed, stamped envelope to the Inmate Trust Fund Department at the following address: Inmate Trust Fund P. O. Box 60 Huntsville, Texas 77342-0060Once you have a deposit slip you can send Cashier checks/money orders with completed deposit slips to the same above address. Cashiers checks or money orders must be payable to the "Inmate Trust Fund - For Scott Kellett #1247447". Personal checks are not accepted and will be returned to the sender or destroyed. Sending Cash thought the mail is not recommended. Any single deposit of $500.00 or more will required two weeks to clear before funds are released to Scott. The Inmate Trust Fund can also automatically debit your checking account each month for a pre-determined amount and deposit these funds in an offender’s trust fund account. This free service is a safe and simple alternative for those family members and friends who routinely make deposits to an offender’s account. Please see the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Website for instructions on how to setup a ACH account. An ACH account is an automatically debited from your personal checking account once each month to be deposited into Scott's Trust Account. How to send Books To Scott You cannot send books directly to Scott. Books can only be directly shipped from the seller. Amazon.com has been the site I have been using to send books to Scott for some time now. I have had no issues and they have been delivered on time. Also, they offer free shipping on most orders over $25.00 this helps keep the price down significantly. Please check the Items Sent To Scott page for a list of books and magazines that have been sent to him. This will hopefully eliminate duplicate items being sent.
